This image is a figure of a bride made entirely out of flowers, a dress, and a dinner table found in various family photographs from the 1930s-1970s. The words on the bottom are lyrics borrowed from a folkloric Afro-Cuban song in which a man lists the expectations he has for his wife. The text translated is “we’ll live happily but I won’t have to do anything.” It asks the viewer to consider the visual environment of 20th and 21st century marriage.
